RV Friendly town Penguin, North-West Coast of Tasmania between Ulverstone and Burnie (see RV Friendly Burnie). Penguin on the North West Coast of Tasmania, near Ulverstone and Burnie is an RV friendly town providing free overnight stays (maximum stay 2-nights) for fully self-contained vehicles and just a few kilometres from the centre of Penguin at Preservation Bay. Penguin offers a range of modern facilities including shops, cafes, service stations, hotels, pharmacies, medical services, bakery and other services. The Penguin Market is held every Sunday. This overnight RV friendly stay at Penguin in close to the bigger town of Burnie. Penguin is an excellent base to explore the central and north-west coast of Tasmania, including the towns of Devonport, Ulverstone, Burnie, Somerset, Wynyard and Smithton. As at the 2011 Australian Census Penguin had an urban population of fewer than 2000 people. This free overnight stop is only quite small but is basically flat and one of the more attractive of a number of RV friendly towns in Tasmania as it has uninterrupted sea views and beach walks. There is no cost to stay here, and you can stay for a maximum of 48 hours only. Your vehicle must be fully self-contained (shower, water, toilet, sleeping & cooking facilities). There is no tent based camping, or camping in cars allowed at this location under any circumstances. There is a small children’s playground at the Penguin free overnight RV friendly stay, Preservation Bay Tasmania. Please note, DOGS are NOT PERMITTED due to the local fairy penguin colony.
