New Norfolk Caravan Park provides fantastic accommodation located on the river esplanade at New Norfolk, Tasmania. From the New Norfolk Caravan Park there is a popular walking track that follows the River Derwent through the wetlands and to Tynwald Park where you can see wildlife such as wild ducks and platypus. New Norfolk is a town on the Derwent River, in the south-east of Tasmania, Australia. It lies 35 kilometres northwest of Hobart on the Lyell Highway which takes you to Queenstown, Strahan, and Zeehan. The Town's pioneers were re-settled from Norfolk Island in 1808 and soon farmed the rich land around the township of New Norfolk in the Derwent Valley. They introduced hops to the area in 1860 and the plant soon became an important crop, which it remains to this day.
