Listing Details

Stanley is a very popular tourist town on the far North-West Coast of Tasmania, and well-known for its major tourist attraction ‘The Nut’. Stanley is the second-last major township on the north-west coast of Tasmania, Smithton being the larger township in the Circular Head municipality. Before Stanley on the North West Coast, you will find Devonport, Ulverstone, Penguin, Burnie and Wynyard. Stanley is an agricultural community, however increasingly tourism is playing a major part in the town’s economy. As at the 2011 census, Stanley had a permanent population of fewer than 500 persons. When visiting Stanley, be sure to take the chairlift to the top of The Nut, explore the quaint village and heritage buildings, enjoy coffee or a meal at one of the many local cafes and eateries and be sure to enjoy fish and chips from the very well known and popular Hursey Seafood. Visitors can stay at the free RV Friendly caravan park Stanley for up to 7 nights at a cost of app. AUD $10 per night, or $50 for the full 7 nights. You must have a fully self-contained motorhome, campervan or caravan to stay at the Stanley RV Overnight Stop. This means only vehicles that carry its own water supply, contains internal washing and toilet facilities, and has an onboard wastewater storage tank and cooking facilities can stay at the location.
